Delightful Beef-less Ground – GF

1 package Gardein gluten free beefless ground

½ medium onion, diced

1 roma tomato, chopped

8 sprigs fresh thyme, stem removed

½ tsp. dried oregano

shepherds pie

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 ½ tsp. onion powder

½ tsp. marjoram, fresh, diced

½ tsp. sage, dry, crushed

½ tsp. rosemary, dry

1 tsp. agave

1 28oz can of organic whole peeled tomatoes, diced with all the liquid

1 ½ tbsp. coconut oil

½ – 1 cup water

¼ tsp. salt (salt to taste)

Saute onion, and roma tomato in coconut oil for 3 minutes. Add thyme, oregano, garlic & onion powders, marjoram, sage, and rosemary and sauté for an additional minute. Add the beefless ground and cook for 2 minutes and then add the canned tomatoes and ½ cup water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10 -15 minutes.   Taste and add a pinch more salt if desired. If the ground is dry then add the remaining water and let simmer for a few more minutes.   You want the consistency to be like a stew.

 

This is amazing in Beefless Shepherd’s Pie, or as a filling for patties, or in our delightful One-Pan Pasta Dinner.
