1 tbsp. turmeric, ground
¾ cup distilled water, or water of your choice
¼ tsp. ginger, ground (fresh can also be used)
1 bay leaf
½ cup milk of choice (nut, soy, etc.)
Simmer turmeric, ginger, and the bay leaf in the ¾ cups of water for 7-10 minutes, covered, or partially covered. Depending upon the size of the pot used, when this is covered it can overflow the pot. When I tend to leave the lid slightly off this doesn’t happen.
Turmeric is used for arthritis, heartburn (dyspepsia), stomach pain, diarrhea, intestinal gas, stomach bloating, loss of appetite, jaundice, liver problems and gallbladder disorders. It is also used for headaches, bronchitis, colds, lung infections, fibromyalgia, leprosy, fever, menstrual problems, and cancer. Other uses include depression, Alzheimer’s disease, water retention, worms, and kidney problems. -WebMD/../turmeric
